What is a Bareboat holiday?

Bareboat means without skipper or crew. All the yachts are fully equipped for cruising in comfort and have full safety, navigational and domestic equipment.

What sailing experience and qualifications are required for a bareboat charter holiday?

To charter a yacht bareboat you should have previous skipper experience to Day Skipper level, gained by sailing in the UK, or your own countries’ equivalent. You should be competent at handling a yacht in close quarters, anchoring and mooring in varying conditions, and be able to use your navigation and pilotage skills to plan a day passage and know your position at any time. You should be accompanied and assisted by at least one competent crewmember.

What if I have never sailed before or need a Skipper for a few days?

You can hire a skipper for the first few days if you want to gain confidence in a new destination or with a larger yacht. If you have no experience at all but still want to have the thrill of a sailing holiday, an experienced skipper can go along with you. With their knowledge of the area and sailing skills you will definitely have a great time.

What is onboard?

The yachts have lots of extras onboard for your safety, comfort and leisure. Please go to charter fleets to view the specs and yacht inventories.

What is the yacht security deposit?

A security deposit is required for all charters against the possibility of damage to the yacht, loss of equipment or late return. The amount is payable on embarkation and returned, less any necessary deductions, at the end of your charter.

You are expected to take all reasonable care but, in the event of loss or damage to the yacht and its equipment, your liability is limited to the amount of your security deposit unless such damage or loss was caused by your negligence or willful damage.

It is important that previous sailing experience is correctly shown on your booking form for full indemnity of any risks.

Will our mobile telephones work when we are cruising?

In most places along the Turkish coast you will pick up a mobile phone signal.

I need to check my work mail; can I get Internet access at sea?

On the Turkcell network you can pick up a GPRS connection for the Internet on some phones. All marinas have Internet access and some have wireless connections. Lots of restaurants even in the remotest bays offer Internet access
